When we want to delete the entire content of a table at a time, we will use the “Truncate” command. In this blog, you will learn to use the Truncate command and delete the data.
We will use the Truncate command to empty the data of our Snowflake table. The syntax for the Truncate:
truncate table name
truncate users1;
If the table has the “ÄUTO_INCREMENT” column, the counter for it will not reset. This behaviour is different from other databases like SQL SERVER, for example, where we don’t require to reset the counter yourself.
Deleting a table and its structure is possible through only the “Truncate” command. I hope this blog offers you sufficient information about Truncate command syntax and working with truncate command.
